The senior finished with a game high 30 points

Game Recap:  Varsity Basketball l Normal, IL – the Calvary Varsity Boy’s Basketball team returned to action last evening in an ECIC matchup with the DeLand-Weldon Eagles.  Calvary entered the game with a (9-7, 2-3 ECIC) record.

After the Knights scored the game’s opening bucket off of a layup by freshman Isaac Orns, the Knights never looked back.

Bryant Sturgill scored his 1,000th career point in the win.

Coach Campbell, having coached Sturgill on the varsity level for the past three years, remarked that “it has been a pleasure to witness the growth and development of Bryant over these past several years both as a player and as a man.”

The Knights outscored the Eagles (53-9) in the first half and coasted to a (70-21) victory.

Senior Bryant Sturgill joined the prestigious 1,000 point club in the game, as he entered the contest needing just seventeen points to get to the career milestone.  Sturgill hit a three-pointer on the right side just two minutes into the second quarter to give him his 999th, 1,000th, and 1,001st point of his career.

The Knights take on another ECIC opponent and crosstown rival, Cornerstone Christian, this Friday at home on a special senior night.

Calvary vs Cornerstone 5/6:30/8pm.

The Class of 2018 will be offering a hot dog meal for only $5 in the adjacent gym from 4:30-7:30pm.  The meal will include a hot dog, chips, cookie, and drink.  CCA students are admitted to the game for FREE and adult admission is $4.
